Our Story
Hockert Tax & Accounting was founded by Christopher Hockert, CPA, with the goal of providing affordable, high-quality accounting services to small businesses. After more than 8 years in public accounting servicing small businesses, non-profits, and individuals, Chris developed a deep understanding of a wide range of business needs.
Through that experience, he discovered that the most important part of accounting is not where the work is done but through hands-on, focused work. Most accounting firms spend tens of thousands of dollars per year on occupancy costs, even though 95% of the time clients are not on site.
With this in mind, Chris sought out to leverage his skills by offering virtual services, cutting overhead costs and allowing him to charge significantly lower prices while offering the same high-quality services as other firms.
About the Owner
Christopher Hockert grew up in Fargo and went on to graduate from the University of Jamestown with honors in Accounting and Business Administration. Shortly after, he obtained his CPA certification and immediately began working in public accounting, learning about clients from all walks of life.
When he's not helping clients navigate their business needs, Chris enjoys traveling the world with his wife, playing in local novice hockey leagues, and enjoying the outdoors bow hunting on his family’s farm. While tax and accounting are his areas of expertise, his greatest passion comes from his desire to help others, especially when it comes to providing the support to help small businesses in the community succeed.
